Why a price can move when nothing changed at the farm
Most of what we buy is priced in US dollars somewhere along the chain, so a stronger Australian dollar can lower what we pay even when the grain itself hasn’t moved — and a weaker one can raise it. Either way it shows up here as a cost move, in the direction it actually happened. That’s why we publish the history rather than a formula.
